Job Summary: The Histology Laboratory Technologist involves independent performance and working under established procedures, performing a wide variety of histological and cytological tests and procedures including collection, preparation, and observation and processing of tests which provide data for use in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases. 

Job Responsibilities Include:  

• Perform routine and special histological procedures involving specimen accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining (routine and special). 
• Follow strict SOP and complete required job-related training as necessary. 
• Evaluate, modify, or develop procedures to meet special requirements of particular research studies. 
• Maintain accurate records of all specimens worked with. 
• Documentation of all work progress in our Laboratory Information Systems. 
• Design and recommend processes, systems, and operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. 

Requirements:  

License/Certification - Completion of board certification (by Joint Commission approved board certification agency) within 6 months of employment. ASCP/AMT
