Job Responsibilities Include:  

• Preparing histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists 
• Staining tissue specimens with dyes or other chemicals to make cell details visible under microscopes 
• Cutting sections of body tissues for microscopic examination using microtomes 
• Mounting tissue specimens on glass slides 
• Occasional cutting of frozen sections 
• Typing gross dictation if needed 
• Special Stains 
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment 
• Performing frozen section preparation 
• Grossing of surgical specimens 

Requirements:  

• Must be a team player and be able to work in a fast paced/busy environment  
• Must be well-versed in computers and a quick learner 
•  

Education - Associates or bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or related Life Sciences/Health Sciences degree preferred but not required 

Experience - 1-3 Years of experience working as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician. Experience in embedding tissue, microtomy, H&E staining, labeling slides, filing slides, accessioning and grossing tissue 

License/Certification - ASCP Certification preferred but not required
