Director of Business Management - Apparel - NYC

Be at the forefront of driving the strategic collaboration of this global manufacturer with a key brand in the fashion industry. Reporting directly to the President of the operating group, your responsibilities are centered on executing, managing, and optimizing shared strategic goals with this key customer. You must be a proactive leader who can effectively manage client relationships, coordinate with global teams, and ensure the success of the partnership. Must have a branded apparel background. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the execution and ongoing tracking of strategic initiatives with both the client and internal stakeholders, ensure timely accomplishment of milestones and agreed goals
  • Act as a pivotal conduit between the client and internal cross-functional teams, including apparel design, sourcing, operations, IT, Finance, and ESG, to ensure a unified and effective approach to meeting the client's demands.
  • Internal and external communication, including managing monthly strategic reviews with customers and internal overall account status updates
  • Assure that global teams are in tune with the key account's values and direction, and operational expectations by crafting and implementing processes that instill the account’s DNA into daily operations.
  • Drive operational excellence to refine the processes directed towards service delivery and upholding the high standards expected by the client across all interactions.
  • Proactively identify and explore white space opportunities in all aspects of the account, from product to process.
  • Manage contracts and license agreements and act as liaison with legal, where needed, specifically focused on the apparel industry.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an Apparel background in Account Management or Brand Management with preferred experience in the apparel branded or licensing market
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, complemented by experience in the global Apparel industry
  • Over 10 years in business experience with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity in the Apparel industry
  • Proficient in effective communication, showcasing exceptional verbal and written skills, alongside strong capabilities in crafting impactful PowerPoint presentations and Excel reports.
  • Adept at leveraging modern technology and digital tools to streamline business processes, enhance efficiency, and foster better communication across teams and with clients.
  • Quick learner with demonstrated ability to adapt swiftly to new market conditions and customer needs
  • Experienced in identifying and exploiting white space opportunities for Apparel, exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for innovative thinking
  • Strong analytical skills, with the capability to perform detailed business-related data analysis, driving data-driven decision-making and strategic planning
  • Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Compensation/Benefits:

  • The approximate annual base salary for this position ranges from $180K - $200K with a discretionary bonus
  • The final offer is contingent upon role requirements, skill set, and years of experience.
