Essential Functions

  • Leads all regional fundraising efforts, focusing on managing a portfolio of 100 to 120 prospects and securing major gifts
  • Identifies top major gift prospects and leadership Annual Fund prospects from within and outside of the network;
  • Creates clear goals and metrics with the Chief Development Officer that reflect portfolio capacity and encourage productivity and growth;
  • Develops individual strategies for prospects and creates a comprehensive stewardship program for their region and portfolio in partnership with the development team and communications;
  • Works closely with organizational leadership to strategically identify funding opportunities;
  • Liaises with the Senior Director, Annual Fund, to grow annual giving regionally (focused on gifts of $1,000+ initially), including developing strategies and outreach to transitioning event donors to leadership Annual Fund donors;
  • Coordinates local outreach and fundraising with the Senior Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations;
  • Acts as a liaison and supporter to key philanthropic partners such as the Hill Country Ride for AIDS and the Octopus Club.
  • Supports critical annual events, specifically AIDS Walk Austin, Red Ribbon Dinners, and the annual Building Healthy Futures Luncheon
  • Manages and helps to design strategies for various donor cultivation and local stewardship events, including but not limited to "Open House" tours.
  • Involves and manages Senior Leadership as necessary in face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, renewal, and stewardship actions for regional top significant donors and prospects.
  • Works with Communications to develop and refine fundraising materials, including a Case for Support that resonates nationally and locally y and donor reports via the print, website, and social media.
  • Manages and updates portfolio through proper database management, ensuring all prospect activities and communications are accurately entered into Rainer's Edge promptly;
  • Manages a Development Associate;
  • Other appropriate duties, as required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Able to operate strategically within a large, national organization while balancing local market needs.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and enjoys being part of a growing team.
  • Ambition to work in a metrics-driven environment and is motivated by setting goals and reaching fundraising targets.
  • This individual must adhere to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate empathy and perseverance.
  • Reflects an optimistic attitude in representing Vivent to external stakeholders.
  • Sensitivity to and knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least four (4) years of prior individual giving or relative experience with a proven track record of success. Candidates with portfolio management experience are strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working remotely with diverse stakeholders and within a pluralistic environment is required.
  • Previous experience using Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or similar database software is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Mailchimp is a plus.
  • Vital Microsoft Office and PC proficiency required.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience in healthcare is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with the Central Texas Nonprofit community is a plus.
  • Special Requirements: Exposure to the typical office environment requires a driver's license.


Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
