Position Overview: 

Overseeing 6th-8th Grade - Middle School Ministry

This full time role exists to partner with parents and the rest of the Next Gen Ministry staff team to share Jesus with teens and teach them to follow Him. This role will focus on leadership of the middle school ministry (grades 6-8) while partnering with the Student Ministry Co-Director to assist with high school ministry and partnering with the Kids Ministry Director to assist in ministry to the 4th and 5th grade students.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Overseeing and leading the 6th-8th grade middle school ministry
• Oversee and lead 6-8 Sunday School “Theology Rocks” on Sunday mornings
• Pray for and with students, families, and volunteer leaders.
• Build Christ-centered relationships with middle school students in the church and in the community
• Partner with the Student Ministry Co-Director to accomplish the following:
• Oversee effective student programming for grades 6-12 on Sunday nights which helps students follow and surrender to Jesus as King.  
• Recruit and equip effective small group leaders.
• Build and maintain a clear, consistent, and accessible communication plan.
• Collaborate with the Next Gen staff team to oversee an overall united effort in partnering with parents to share Jesus with kids and teens and teach them to follow Him. These efforts include finding ways to equip parents and encourage families.

Job Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in volunteering or full time in student ministry
• Bachelor’s degree in student ministry or Christian education
• Demonstrated relationship with Christ - displays spiritual maturity and integrity
• Has a clear vision for spiritual formation in students
