Talent Connections, LLC has been retained to lead a Head of HR, North America search with Ontex, a leading global consumer brands company specializing in the engineering and making of high-quality Baby Care, Feminine Care, and Adult Care products and solutions. Our client is the partner of choice for consumers, retailers, and institutional and private healthcare providers around the world. This role is hybrid and located at the company’s North America HQ office in Alpharetta. The ideal candidate will currently reside in the Metro Atlanta area.


Summary:

This position is hybrid and reports to the Global VP of HR with a dotted line to the President, North America Region and will play a critical role as a key member of the global HR leadership team, spearheading HR leadership, culture, and talent initiatives to meet business objectives. This position will drive critical areas of HR that include Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Development, Compensation & Benefits, Diversity & Inclusion, and Employee Experience, just to name a few.


As the most senior HR leader in the region, this role will shape, communicate, and implement North American strategy across the geography, which includes locations in the US (Alpharetta, GA and Stokesdale, NC) and Mexico (Tijuana). Further, the Head of HR acts as a business partner by providing strategic counsel to senior leaders across the region, partnering with them to build an effective and high-performing organization.


Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a senior member of the North American leadership team, contributing to the business strategy, providing general business counsel and perspective as it relates to organizational transformation, building high-performance work teams and a strong and a highly engaged and inclusive work environment. Serve as champion of the Ontex culture, fostering an environment consistent with the company’s strategy and values. 
  • Develop a comprehensive North American human resources strategy that is closely aligned and integrated with the business strategy, ensuring that the leadership team is making organizational and talent-related decisions designed to contribute to the achievement of the company’s strategic priorities. 
  • Demonstrates leadership in cultivating a performance culture aligned with our purpose and values and ensure activation through the region. This includes cultural change management work by integrating US and Mexico organizations with Ontex Group through the alignment of vision, strategy, culture, policies and processes. 
  • Lead organizational development efforts to establish a world class organization with the talent capability to meet strategic growth, cost excellence and profit objectives. 
  • Develop the overall talent management strategy to ensure strong programs in the areas of talent attraction, recruitment, development, succession, diversity & inclusion, engagement and retention. 
  • Design effective talent acquisition processes and develop initiatives around external and internal talent identification and attraction, employer branding and candidate experience to meet critical manpower and skills requirements.  
  • Lead the implementation of key HR processes including performance management; objective setting; development planning; annual compensation programs; long term incentive program, and talent review and succession planning.   
  • Apply strategic people, talent, and workforce data analysis skills to encourage and support business decisions that will sustain a dynamic, competitive and healthy business. Develop operational and strategic workforce plans to ensure all people implications and risks are considered and managed in order to deliver business strategy. 
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets. 
  • Oversee employee and labor relations activities including contract negotiations while managing relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the company. 
  • Ensure compliance with employment-related laws and regulations in all locations. Stay abreast of changes to employment legislation across the region, and manage company relationships with federal, provincial and municipal regulatory agencies. Serve as the internal compass on legal, ethical and social compliance issues. Execute and monitor all respective internal controls, ensuring efficient and effective activities that support organizational objectives, while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Provide leadership to the team of local HR employees to maximize their potential, engagement and value delivered to the business. 
  • Serve as a key member of Ontex’s HR leadership team as well as a senior member in the global HR community. Provide leadership on projects that impact company-wide HR initiatives. 
  • Build and manage a regional HR budget by forecasting, anticipating requirements, trends, variances and analyzing results; participating and supporting the business in cost-saving initiatives. 
  • Work with senior leadership to develop effective internal communications to share information, drive engagement, promote morale and achieve organizational goals. 
  • Oversee and monitor trends and implement best practices in human resources. Promotes cross functional, region-wide and global collaboration. 

 

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Psychology or similar.
  • MBA or HR specializations are a plus. 
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience as a senior HR leader with a strong generalist (strategic and operational) background. 
  • A human resource generalist, with an excellent sense of operations as well as commercial activities and an appreciation for the interplay between the two. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to understand the implications of actions and the HR function will have on the strategic, financial and organizational demands of the company.   
  • Experience providing strategic and tactical broad HR leadership to business leaders in a large, complex organization with a focus on talent, organizational development, retention, employee engagement and organization performance and effectiveness. 
  • Experience of successfully navigating within a complex, global, multi-site matrix organization to gain influence and impact.  
  • A track record of success managing and driving change and transformation. Ownership mind-set with a drive for sustainable results.   
  • Effectively manage a geographically and culturally diverse team in a fair and consistent manner.  
  • Significant exposure to a wide range of HR topics and proven success at working with and operating at a senior leadership level. 
  • Direct working experience in the US and good knowledge of US labor specificities and work culture is a must. Knowledge of Mexican labor law and culture and work experience in the country are highly desirable.
