HSP Direct, an elite fundraising agency based in Ashburn, VA, is looking for a Staff Accountant. The position reports to the Controller. Responsibilities:   

• Full Cycle Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
• Create customer invoices according to company practices
• Verify and post customer payments, to include researching discrepancies and past due amounts.
• Record vendor invoices; make payment selections; and process payments via check or ACH
• Collaborate and communicate with internal client accounting and sales teams as well as external client contacts
• Prepare monthly cash and sales reports
• Maintain proper support of customer receipts, vendor payments, and invoices as well as documentation of internal processes
• Assist in month and year-end close tasks
• Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable and payable processes by identifying areas for performance improvement
• Support other projects and functions of the accounting department, as needed

Key Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Well-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills required. Sage Intacct experience a plus but not required
• Strong social skills, including the ability to interact with employees, customers, and vendors
• Detail oriented and hands-on with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
