Gagen MacDonald is looking for a highly driven, growth-focused and collaborative leader to join our pioneering, human-focused transformation consulting firm as Managing Director.


Qualified candidates have 15+ years of experience in the areas of business transformation, culture, change management, internal communication and employee engagement. Consulting experience with clients who are going through mergers and acquisitions and/or other types of large-scale organizational change is required. Qualified candidates have prior leadership roles in a professional services firm and a strong network of C-Suite contacts relevant to our business. 


The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to build, maintain and grow a profitable multi-million-dollar consulting practice, and the willingness and ability to travel as required to serve clients, be visible in the marketplace and establish new business opportunities. The position reports directly to the CEO.

ROLE OBSESSION AND MISSION


The Managing Director will be obsessed with leading Gagen MacDonald in delivering on our vision and strategically growing and managing our business. The role’s primary mission is to ensure the successful execution of our business plan and strategic priorities through a focus on firmwide management and operations, new business growth, and driving client service excellence with our consulting teams.


SIGNIFICANT AND IMMEDIATE IMPACT


The Managing Director will make a significant and immediate impact across three primary areas:


Firmwide management and operations:

  • In partnership with the CEO and other Managing Director(s), assume overall accountability for the successful execution the firm’s business plan and strategic priorities
  • Working with other members of the firmwide Leadership Team, guide the flexible and agile management and decision making around issues that arise in the course of the business, while helping teams and the firm stay focused on achieving their goals
  • Align and efficiently manage all aspects of the business through the adherence to the firm’s governance protocols and calendar and through clear internal communication
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen and support the firm’s culture and employee engagement


New business growth:

  • Leverage professional network of contacts and proactively cultivate new relationships to discover and close near-term revenue opportunities aligned with the firm’s growth strategy, while also laying the groundwork for long term opportunities and relationships
  • Ensure the full breadth of the firm’s experience, perspective and solution set is considered and leveraged as part of new business proposals and pitch opportunities
  • Provide guidance to teams as needed in the development of proposals and pitches to maximize our competitive positioning and increase our win rate
  • Meet or exceed annual individual sales target


Strategic leadership of the consulting teams:

  • Provide strategic counsel, coaching and operational support to individual consulting team leads with direct reporting lines to the Managing Director
  • Drive accountability and client service excellence with consulting team leads to deliver excellent solutions to our clients and meet their team revenue under management and new business goals. The Managing Director will be responsible for substantial revenue under management per year.
  • Keep the pulse on key accounts, provide strategic counsel to senior level clients, and help organically grow our existing client portfolio
  • Serve as sounding board to consulting Team Leads to troubleshoot issues and leverage opportunities as they arise
