VP, Information Technology



Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Information Technology will provide strategy, leadership and operational oversight for the information technology services and teams. They will also participate with the President & CEO and other senior leaders in planning organizational growth and executing the overall vision and strategic plan. Must be a forward-thinking leader who is innovative and has the ability to plan and execute and align IT with the mission and goals of the organization. Must also be able to develop strong, collaborative relationships and communicate effectively.


Organization’s portfolio is built around third-party service providers and SaaS solutions. The delivery approach is to maintain a lean IT organization and use a “flex staffing” strategy to assemble the skills and resources needed to successfully deliver projects. These two characteristics combine to create an exciting environment for project planning and execution involving multiple vendors, multiple external resources, and constrained internal resources.


The successful incumbent will be effective at working in a lean turnaround environment and lead the information technology function to deliver cost effective IT solutions and services to the business. The role will work in collaboration with vendors, partners, and business stakeholders to define and deliver results needed to provide quality care to our communities and residents. The incumbent partners with business applications stakeholders to understand solution needs and priorities then works within the IT organization to prepare options and approaches with overall responsibility for executing the delivery.


The role requires deep experience operating in an outsourced, multi-location, global IT delivery model along with a process orientation. Successful incumbent must have an understanding of the ITIL service delivery framework, an understanding of IT strategy, strong project management skills, information security, infrastructure, and effective communication and presentation skills. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on execution skills, task organization, and consistent follow up.


Responsibilities


A day in the life of the VP, Information Technology includes:


  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand needs, define requirements, define options, and prioritize solution delivery activities to meet business objectives. Play an active role in identification of new business opportunities and in the prioritization of activities and the communication of status. Research and recommend appropriate third-party solutions and services to support the business solutions roadmaps. Oversee the details of the business solutions delivery function including planning, prioritizing work intake, and delivery of enhancements, change requests, and projects using internal staff and external third-party resources.
  • Assign and coordinate tasks and deliverables to internal team members, partners and vendors, and third-party solutions providers needed to define and deliver new business solutions or changes to existing solutions. Oversee and orchestrate the internal and external teams creating deliverables and providing services. Manage plans and communicate status
  • Ensures consistent and effective delivery of IT support services including incident, problem, and change management. Must have experience with and mastery of the ITIL service delivery framework and be able to establish metrics and reporting to ensure consistent and quality delivery consistent with business SLAs.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, information security frameworks (HITRUST CSF). Incumbent must be able to understand IT risk management concepts to identify and address risks and vulnerabilities in the environment across identity management, device management, email, and the network. Must be familiar with security operations function and tasks and ensure effective design and operation of the IT security program.
  • Responsible for the company information architecture and reporting/ analytics. Incumbent must be familiar with hybrid cloud BI/ Analytics solutions. Ensures the Company remains technically current within industry standards and obtains proper ROI for technology expenditures.
  • Experience with and understanding of hybrid cloud IT infrastructure. Understanding of distributed networks and the ability to oversee network architecture, engineering, and operations functions required to deploy and support a distributed infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of SOX controls, HIPAA, and information security frameworks, tools, and processes is required to provide effective leadership and oversight of the security and compliance functions to meet regulatory and best practice requirements.
  • Provide methodology support, coaching, professional development and training to staff. Develop sound applications development project plans and strong project management skills to deliver on the project, solutions and support needs of the company. Able to work productively with key vendors and partners to leverage their strengths and capabilities to deliver cost-effective solutions and services


Qualifications & Requirements:


  • BS in Computer Science or related degree required, MIS or related graduate degree preferred.
  • Has 10+ years of IT and business industry, or consulting, work experience, with leadership experience in managing multiple cross-functional teams or projects across all disciplines of the IT function including solutions, infrastructure, security, and service delivery.
  • Candidate must be able to educate and influence senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Thought leader expertise in O365/Azure cloud environment. Especially in the administration of AzureAD, virtual hardware & networking, security & governance, SSO, multi-factor authentication and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on approach is required & expected
