JOB SUMMARY: Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.

Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.

Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.

Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

Supports Product Engineers and Quality Program Managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues.

Assures data availability and integrity for all quality related data. Consolidates and reports quality results.

Initiates corrective action requests as needed and tracks to satisfactory completion.

Assists with development and implementation of quality audits.

Responsible for developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.

Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment.

Analyzes reports and returned products and recommends corrective action.

Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and analytical equipment and facilities.

Approves product, process and equipment qualifications Provides liaison to various regulatory bodies.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience supervising large teams.
  • Typically requires skill and troubleshooting, diagnostics, and overview of the entire test process and the ability to train others.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with managers and employees of the organizations.
  • Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Exercises independent judgment using ambiguously defined procedures and policies; may propose/provide input to defining methods, standards, policies and procedures. Makes decisions for sections/sub-functions. Decisions may affect multiple sections/sub-functions.
  • Demonstrates skills in teaching/leading and/or mentoring; may lead a team.

SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED 

 

Supervision is received by the Supervisor of Quality Management.   

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

·      Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals

·      Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis

·      Demonstrates advanced/thorough knowledge of the function and business.

·      Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of and related business.

·      Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/ processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.

·      Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

·      Five years’ experience in OEM or contract manufacturing of electronic assemblies

·      Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

·      Audit experience is a plus

·      Familiar with Quality Management Systems such as: ISO9001, ISO13485, AS9100 and NADCAP

·      Familiar with workmanship standards such as: IPC610 and JSTD-001

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Advanced ability in operating a computer and in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, Visio and other database software.
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages.
  • Knowledge of logical problem analysis, statistical analysis, general management and quality control methodology.
  • Must be a positive, energetic team player and an advocate for product excellence and quality.
  • Must be results oriented, a quick learner, able to multi-task, display a sense of urgency and show a strong track record of meeting deadlines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with exception of entering production areas where noise and temperature extremes are common. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
