Tallann Group have been retained by a leading Building Services Consultancy based in Tauranga to find a Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer. This is a leading, innovative, and dynamic engineering firm dedicated to providing exceptional building services solutions to a diverse range of clients both in TGA, across the BOP region and further afield.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of mechanical systems for a wide array of projects. You will work closely with not only the MD and Principal Electrical Engineering but also the multidisciplinary team to create efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions while ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities:

·       Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of building projects from concept through construction.

·       Develop innovative mechanical system designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.

·       Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and other professionals to ensure integrated solutions.

·       Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimize mechanical systems.

·       Prepare and review engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.

·       Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.

·       Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.

·       Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate them into designs.


What you need:

·       Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field

·       CPEng (or close to achieving).

·       Extensive experience in mechanical engineering for building services.

·       Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software.

·       Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

·       Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.

·       Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

·       Strong project management and leadership abilities.

·       Commitment to sustainability and energy-efficient design.
