As an Application Security Specialist, you will continue to develop and hone the skills needed to effectively support the design and development of secure software that follows industry standards. You will work with Application Security Architects to provide guidance on secure software development and promote secure architecture and design principles. You will support Product Development efforts while being part of the core Information Security team. 

• Continue to develop personal knowledge of secure coding practices to feel confident in supporting needs of Application Security Architects, Software Engineers and Product Development teams.
• Assist with security incident response efforts within Product Development.
• Assist in ensuring software developed by Veterans United is built and operated according to industry-standard secure software development practices.
• Support operations of security tools and technologies to provide protection of software and data assets.
• Research and convey findings of new and innovative secure software design and coding standards to development teams.
• Collaborate with technical experts, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to educate and deliver secure software solutions.
• Participate in proof-of-concept and technology evaluations, vet possibilities, and work with Application Security Architects to make recommendations.
• Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

Experience Required

• Experience in Application Development (.Net), Architecture, and Database Design in a highly distributed environment.

• Familiarity with AngularJS and/or other JavaScript frameworks.

• Experience with TFS, Git, and other version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery tools.

• Experience with Cloud security.

• 3+ years of experience in computer technologies, system architecture, and design.

• Experience in product review and evaluation for solution resolution.

• Thorough grasp of OWASP or other Information Security Software Development Frameworks.

• Exemplary system analysis and design ability.

• Ability to implement, improve, and teach new technologies and processes to support software delivery.
