Government & Defense Business Development Manager

Location: Nationwide (with reporting office in Sterling, Virginia)

Salary:

  • Base Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 per year
  • Uncapped Commission Structure


Responsibilities:

As a Government & Defense Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in expanding our business within the government sector. Your primary focus will be on developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, defense contractors, and other relevant entities. Here are the key responsibilities:


Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on government agencies, departments, and defense contractors.
  • Identify potential business opportunities, market trends, and emerging needs.

Business Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the government and defense sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business goals and objectives.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with decision-makers, program managers, and procurement officers.
  • Understand client needs, pain points, and challenges to propose tailored solutions.

Proposal Development:

  • Lead the preparation of proposals, bids, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with government procurement regulations and guidelines.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.

Networking and Industry Engagement:

  • Represent the company and build a strong professional network.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the government sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of government agencies (e.g., Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Commerce) and defense contractors.
  • Language ACRONYMs
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Prior military experience is preferred but not required.


Additional Details:

  • This position offers uncapped commission, providing significant earning potential.
  • Travel may be required for client meetings and industry events.
