Located in San Jose, CA, Chick-fil-A Monterey Road and Tully Road is operated by Shannon

Balderas. Shannon has been an Operator for 8 years, and since opening in 2014, the store

has consecutively increased sales and currently ranks in the top 2% of the entire Chick-fil-A

brand! Prior to joining Chick-fil-A, Shannon served in the Peace Corps and as a Police Officer,

but always felt drawn to Chick-fil-A’s culture and mission. Shannon is passionate about

growing the business and serving, supporting, and developing her 130+ team members. The

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Chick-fil-A Monterey Road and Tully Road is seeking a Restaurant Director with the ability to

provide operational oversight and strong leadership to its 130+ team members. This person

will be in a leadership position where they will have the opportunity to lead, grow, and serve.

This individual will have their hand in multiple aspects of the restaurant from managing a

department to business planning and strategizing. The ultimate goal for this person is to

work alongside the Owner/Operator and other Leaders to play a key role in growing the

business and holding the team accountable. This opportunity is far greater than “fast food”

but is an opportunity for a key individual to impact the day to day team members and

business functions of a Chick-fil-A restaurant. This leader will be intentionally developed, and

long-term this individual will have the opportunity to serve as a top leader in an even larger

capacity or pursue becoming an Owner/Operator within the next 3-5 years!


POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Work in the operations overseeing and supervising daily systems and processes

•Enthusiastically lead and positively impact team and culture through celebrating successes

and modeling core values

• Mentor, coach, invest in, and build relationships with a diverse team of 35-40 people

•Celebrate successes while holding team members accountable for performance results

•Ongoing evaluation of business operations and streamlining systems/processes for efficiency

•Know, set, and evolve store goals with a focus on Food Quality, Safety, Taste, Cost, and Sales

Growth

•Perform off-shift managerial tasks such as team development, reviewing reports and results,

inventory, ordering, and equipment maintenance

•Ensure Chick-fil-A Monterey Road and Tully Road is meeting and exceeding all Chick-fil-A

standards

•Partner with other Directors to build relationships and grow success of the business

• Meet regularly with Leadership Team and the Operator for training/personal development and

to execute overall vision



COMPETENCIES/SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

• 2-3+ years of leadership and management experience

• Energetic with high integrity; passion for leading, coaching and developing others

• Driven and motivated with a strong work ethic

• Demonstrates servant leadership mentality; willing to get your hands dirty

• Perceptive and innovative; able to determine needed ongoing changes to the business

• Possesses a willingness and desire to learn and be coached; open minded and adaptable

• Ability to keep composure under high pressure and make decisions quickly

• Strong communication skills; quick thinker and decision maker

• Organized and detail oriented with strong time management skills

• Dedicated, focused self-starter, and resourceful problem solver

• Ability to obtain the knowledge and skills of every position in the operation
