Our client is a global beauty and cosmetic products ODM company which is specialized in the production of health functional foods and medical supplies with $100M in revenue and customers such as Bath & Body Works, L’Oréal, CeraVe, Boscia, and more. They are currently seeking a candidate for the Buyer position.


SUMMARY:

The Buyer will be responsible for processing purchase orders, utilizing MRP, RFQ's, vendor/supplier relations and negotiation of pricing and terms to support the growth of the business. Qualified candidates must have progressive purchasing experience in a high-product mix manufacturing facility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Prepare purchase orders, submit requests for quotations (RFQ) and suggest course of action for procurement of requisitions for materials.

·      Confirm day-to-day purchase orders.

·      Ensure vendor invoices are documented and processed in a timely manner.

·      Resolve order discrepancies and process returns to vendors.

·      Communicate with suppliers on product costs and lead times/shipping dates.

·      Support Accounting with closing End of Month.

·      Act as internal point of contact (POC) for all open PO status requests from sales, production, R&D, and other departments as required.

·      Daily maintenance of SAP and relevant reports (target files) to provide real-time status of raw and packaging material delivery dates.

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of dietary/nutritional experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge in working with Microsoft Office (i.e.: Excel) and SAP (Preferred).
  • Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
  • Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed.
  • Must be willing to abide by company’s policies and procedures, including those that are safety-related.
  • Self-motivated individual willing to work hard, able to work in a group and alone, and be quality conscious.
  • Demonstrates a professional, team-first attitude toward work and co-workers.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking of Korean/English.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through.
  • Ability to facilitate and maintain relationships between company and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of raw materials and packaging.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (Preferred).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous purchasing experience (Preferred).
  •  Knowledge of dietary/nutritional experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge in working with Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing work environment. Constant physical activities are required for this position. Able to tolerate working environment with inside hot and cold temperatures.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Activities include the ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more; the ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously during the shift; intense walking is involved. Dexterity for manipulating work materials; repetitive motion; proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to respond to safety signals, such as those generated by forklifts.
