Our client is a subsidiary of a Global Fortune 150 company, and they are a total Global IT service provider located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ with $5 Billion in revenue and 6,000 employees globally. They are currently seeking a talented candidate for the DevOps position.
Position Overview
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps expert who will own the operations and maintenance of eCommerce related initiatives. They will lead the DevOps activities related to our web platform and is expected to be a SME on all the technical/functional aspects of the platform and integration points.
Key Accountabilities:
· Hands-on ownership of Release management, code deployments, cutover planning, deployment automation scripting, and monitoring
· Work closely with development teams and other associated team to ensure that solutions are designed with scale/performance and operability in mind
· Stays abreast of technology developments and their potential impact and opportunities on the organization
· Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to the release engineering process
· Contribute to software engineering teams and demonstrate strong software engineering and process improvement
· Demonstrate experience and knowledge in distributed release management strategies spanning across geographies and environments
Required Qualifications:
· Experience running DevOps with AWS ECS
· Experience working with and developing enterprise application monitoring/tooling solutions like Grafana, Kibana, ElasticSearch, NewRelic, Pingdom or similar
· Expertise with Apache/Tomcat or similar webserver environments, with hands-on shell scripting skills
· Expertise with MQ processing, data replication and transfer process
· Design, build and maintain the CI/CD infrastructure and tools for deployments using tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven
· Experience driving deployment/ production release projects to meet tight deadlines and ensure quality throughout
· Experience building performance, health, and system activity status dashboards for distributed enterprise systems
· Experience working in agile structures/organizations
· Expertise in building and management of robust API clusters to support micro services architecture
· Ability to design and develop test automation to validate the builds in the CI/CD pipeline on AWS
· Ability to script activities that is repeatable across environments (automating the tasks like
· cleanup, garbage collection etc.)
· Strong background in configuration and support of Docker and Redis
· Familiar with web application performance tuning, handling concurrent transactions
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience implementing large enterprise scale web application/platform
● Demonstrated experience with a systems development life cycle
● Strong problem solving skills
● Strong written and verbal communications skills
● Experience in integrating JIRA/Bitbucket and other Atlassian tools to the CI/CD process
● Experience with CDN’s such as Akamai/Cloudflare/Fastly
