SUMMARY:

The Director of Production will be responsible for resolving all processing issues in coordination with the Quality Department. This position will also develop talent in the workforce through mentoring, coaching, motivating and training, will manage department budget and ensure adherence to all targets, ensure compliance with workplace safety program, and conduct essential training specific to the job function.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Recommend and implement improvements in processes to increase efficiency of production department and monitors inventory created and returned from the production department. 

·        Recognize and develop talent in the workforce through mentoring, coaching, training, and motivation.

·        Maintain team environment and resolve all processing issues in coordination with quality department. 

·        Develop and maintain professional relationships with team members.

·        Coordinate with area managers and recommend ways to reduce cost and improve quality of all processes and provides necessary training and counseling to employees as necessary. 

·        Preside over the production of goods.

·        Work with Research and Development on product approval trials.

·        Manage communication lines with managers, suppliers, and procurement departments.

·        Manage department budget and ensure adherence to all targets.

·        Work with master planner to develop production schedules and duty assignments.

·        Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs.

·        Complete / conduct essential training specific to job function. 

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·        Previous experience working with an ERP (SAP preferred) (Required).

·        Basic mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting skills.

·        Must be able to work well under pressure and work with production staff to do the same.

·        Must have a proactive and continual improvement mindset.

·        Highly developed analytical skills and demonstrated track record translating analysis to process solutions.

·        Knowledge of 5S with the ability to implement these practices

·        Must be willing to abide by Cosmax NBT USA’s policies and procedures, including those that are safety-related.

·        Demonstrates a professional, team first attitude toward work and co-workers.

·        Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, hand trucks, utility knifes, mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment.

·        Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking of English.

·        Must have strong mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must also have the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, temperature, rate and distance.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1.     Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Required).

2.     A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the nutritional supplement/food industry.

3.     A minimum of seven years’ supervisory experience.

4.     Previous experience working with an ERP (SAP preferred) (Required).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing work environment. Constant physical activities are required for this position. Able to tolerate working environment with inside hot and cold temperatures.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Activities include: ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more; ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously during shift; intense walking is involved. Dexterity for manipulating work materials; repetitive motion; proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English. Ability to respond to safety signals, such as those generated by forklifts.
