Our client in Friendship, TN, has been a leader in Human Machine Interface (HMI) products since 1979, providing engineering and design services, supply chain management, and other value-added services to their customers and suppliers.

 

They are seeking a Human Resources Manager, with a strong background in a manufacturing environment, to support the full employment life cycle for their 85-employee organization. The HR Manager position is located on-site at their plastic injection molding facility in Friendship, TN, and will require additional travel to the corporate headquarters in Memphis, TN.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Oversee and manage the Safety and Environmental programs for the organization.
  • Oversee and manage the recruitment and selection process, including job descriptions, job postings, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop workforce planning strategies.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Worker’s Compensation tracking and reporting, including completing necessary forms.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on HR and Safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide support to managers and personnel for continuing education, credentialing, and certifications.
  • Stay up-to-date on HR trends and best practices, including compensation strategy, to ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.

  • Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and present HR metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to monitor and initiate actions to improve the company culture.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and experience leading organizational change initiatives.
  • Demonstrate willingness to grow in knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of the position.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • HRCI, SHRM, and/or PHR certification (preferred)
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager in a manufacturing environment (5+ years)
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
  • Experience maintaining records to achieve and/or maintain quality certifications such as ISO-9001, IATF 16949, ISO-14001

Pay: Commensurate with experience
