HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST


PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position supports the work of our client, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the company, the Human Resources Generalist will support all areas of the Human Resources department with an emphasis on employee changes, employee relations, and HRIS management.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Act as the main point of contact for employee relations matters, cultivating a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Assist in resolving employee conflicts and issues, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and relevant legal requirements.
  • Manage HRIS changes including, but not limited to, separations, pay and position changes, reporting relationships, etc.
  • Uphold data accuracy and integrity within the HRIS, conducting regular audits and making necessary corrections.
  • Manage HR general email account. Resolve and respond, using sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with a high level of professionalism. Direct inquiries to the appropriate departments or individuals when required.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for HR inquiries, delivering prompt and professional responses to employee questions and concerns.
  • Respond to requests for employment verifications, providing precise and confidential verification of employment details.
  • Conduct thorough exit interviews for departing employees, collecting valuable feedback to enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, guaranteeing strict compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Serves as a backup for retirement administration, benefits and Unemployment Claims processing.
  • Assist in generating HR reports and analytics as necessary.
  • Assists in ad hoc or special assignments as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of HR best practices and current employment law.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in an HR role with an emphasis on handling complex employee relations issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive personal information and employee issues.
  • Sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to speak and write in a professional manner.
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Human Resources related field.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The schedule for this full-time position is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, though work outside these days/hours may be required depending on the business need.
