Responsibilities


Our client is looking for instructors that are interested in teaching Extreme Programming and modern web development. They offer an intensive agile course focused on the best practices engineering teams use to deliver customer value and produce quality software on budget, on time and with reduced risk. Their curriculum includes Pair Programming, Writing User Stories, User Story Pointing, Agile Ceremonies, the Iteration Planning Meeting, and Test Driven Development (TDD). Our instructors coach teams working with modern and classic tech stacks.


The Enterprise Instructor will be responsible for:


  • Lead lectures and class activities and support students during project work.
  • Plan daily lessons and assess students on an ongoing basis.
  • Work closely with co-instructors to provide students with meaningful and prompt feedback on their progress.
  • Provide a strong agile software engineering environment.
  • Coach student teams on project work using agile software engineering methodologies.
  • Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community.
  • Develop curriculum and contribute to the Enterprise product portfolio at the direction of the Managing Lead Instructor and other curriculum leaders.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on business development and solution engineering initiatives.


Is this you?


  • Fluency in the following topics: Agile methodologies, Extreme Programming, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL (any of PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc), Web Fundamentals (HTTP, APIs, REST, JSON), Jenkins (preferred) or other CI/CD, public cloud environments.
  • Thrives in a continuous feedback environment and welcomes feedback from students and other instructors.
  • Eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of a team learning agile software engineering skills.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for on-site engagements (for as long as 3 months) at various client sites around the US.
  • Previous background in teaching and / or mentoring developers, or a deep interest in giving it a try.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Pair programming experience
  • High performing current XP team lead or participant
  • Experience with legacy technologies (Java EE, VB.NET)
