WHite Ash Group is currently recruiting a Cultivation Manager for a Minnesota-based Cannabis company looking to launch its products soon.
This role is pivotal in overseeing and enhancing the operational tasks within the cultivation area, including but not limited to: cloning, transplanting, nutrient application, plant training techniques, crop maintenance, harvesting processes, packaging, waste management, and inventory control. Operating with the utmost professionalism and an acute attention to detail is paramount.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations of a large-scale cultivation facility.
- Recruit and manage a top-tier cultivation/horticulture team.
- Oversee comprehensive cultivation tasks: cloning, transplanting, nutrient application, plant training, pest and disease management, harvesting, packaging, waste management, and inventory control.
- Program and monitor computerized climate control systems.
- Uphold indoor cultivation protocols and nutrient regimens according to standard operating procedures.
- Lead and supervise assistant growers, nutrient technicians, and integrated pest management technicians.
- Conduct all cultivation tracking and recordkeeping within the electronic seed-to-sale system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Train the cultivation team comprehensively.
- Ensure proficiency in cultivation tasks and responsibilities of assistant growers, nutrient, and pest management technicians.
- Schedule plants to accurately project facility requirements, optimizing yield and efficiency while minimizing production costs.
- Track each strain from clone through to harvest.
- Administer integrated pest management programs, including the eradication of molds, mildews, mites, and other pests.
- Stay current with industry best practices and innovations, including nutrient recipes, controlled stress environments, and lighting systems setups.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Cannabis.
- Facilitate audits and inspections from government auditors and law enforcement, maintaining inventory, sales, and compliance records.
- Adhere to HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
- Maintain facility upkeep and troubleshooting.
- Keep work environments clean and organized.
- Independently manage cultivation operations on a rotational weekend schedule.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years in cultivation experience; greenhouse experience is advantageous.
- Expertise in all grow mediums and irrigation methods.
- Exceptional team-building skills.
- Deep understanding of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including environmental control and plant health.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor tasks required for cultivation management.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in the use of climate control and automated irrigation systems.
- Capable of creating schedules for employees and plant cultivation.
