The Dahill Group is pleased to be assisting our client, a well-respected a multi-disciplinary firm that provides engineering, procurement, construction management, fabrication, and roustabout services in search of an outstanding CAD Lead Designer. Our client is focused on building infrastructure in the Williston Basin and expanding into other basins. Their model is to provide full integration from conception to commissioning for clients in the oil and gas industry. Our client specializes in project development, facility and pipeline design, procurement, construction management and field construction services.

 

Hybrid Position:  Denver and Waterford City North Dakota – employee can reside in Colorado (work from home) with periodic travel requirements to the corporate office in Waterford City North Dakota and client/field locations throughout the Rockies.

 

Job Summary:


The CAD Lead Designer is a self-motivated individual with experience developing design documents for Oil and Gas surface facilities. Candidate will lead a team of designers to achieve safety, quality, cost and schedule metrics as well as overall client satisfaction. Candidate works with the Engineering staff to provide designs, plans, project layouts, and contract documents in accordance with company design standards and client requirements. This person assists in the development of all the deliverables required to complete a project design. Communicates design issues and problems with manager and other staff as needed.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

·        Drive completion of the design, engineering and production management of deliverables associated with company projects to meet company and customer specifications, quality expectations, performance criteria, and delivery expectations.

·        Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Piping Drawings, Bill of Materials, Line Lists, Tie-in List, Valve List, Equipment Layout, Plot Plans, Foundation Location Plan, Piping/Civil Detail, Isometric Drawings, As-built Drawings, and 2D/3D Models for projects using Au Excellent communication, interpersonal, and  to CAD and other 3D CAD Software in accordance with industry standards.

·        Develop pipeline layout from preliminary alignment sheets and design notes.

·        Manage CAD specifications.

·        Coordinate and provide guidance to drafting team in-house and on contract.

·        Determine the types of drawings and design documents required to support project execution and meet client expectations.

·        Perform additional duties as required by company or project.

·        Monitor project costs to drive alignment with project budget and specification.

·        Work with peers to drive commonality and consistency between projects.

·        Communicate effectively while working in a team environment.

·        Provide direct support to the execution team regarding drafting-related questions.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

 

·        Excellent written & verbal communication skills

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

·        Overnight travel to company locations and facilities for meetings, training, special projects, emergency planning, or information gathering will be required.

·        Communicate effectively while working in a team environment.

·        Compute basic calculations.

 

Education & Experience:

·        Associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field and/or equivalent and relevant 10 years of Oil and Gas piping design/drafting experience required.

·        Must have experience using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software to generate drawings.

·        Must be capable of creating designs, checking drawings and bill of materials for accuracy with minimum direction.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft office (word, excel), and other computer applications and design software is a plus.

 

Education & Experience

Preferred;


·        10+ years of refining, petrochemical, gas midstream, or upstream oil & gas piping design experience strongly preferred.

 

 

Salary & Benefits:

 

Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 per year based on experience
