Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role within the Engineering Division, supporting design and fabrication of equipment for construction projects. Responsibilities include planning, equipment design and manufacture, facility design, and problem-solving for mine hoisting systems and conveyances. This role involves collaboration with peers, consultants, vendors, and clients. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will:
- Design mechanical systems, structures, and components.
- Assist in modifying existing equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support to various divisions.
- Contribute to mechanical plans and technical quotes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Respond to site-based requests for information.
- Prepare project documents including calculations, drawings, and reports.
- Travel to sites as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure within 2 years.
- Experience with hydraulics, hoists, or pneumatic systems preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Finite Element Analysis software.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
