As a Rail Track Field Engineer, reporting to Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing insight and technical engineering expertise on railway projects and systems, such as track construction, traction power, train and traffic signal controls.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Responsible for providing insight and technical engineering expertise on railway projects and systems, such as track construction, traction power, train and traffic signal controls

•This position is responsible for providing calculations, and engineering services as necessary for transit, passenger, and freight rail projects

•The individual will complete track or civil engineering tasks for local projects, reviewing plan sheets, project specifications, and performing submittals, and RFI reviews

•Lead the preparation of civil engineering and track documents, including plans, specifications, quantities and calculations

•Lead the track horizontal and vertical alignments verification, including processing of survey data, regression analysis

•Prepare special trackwork details for procurement and installation

•Occasionally perform inspection and field work as needed

•Works closely with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations and delivery on track/rail projects

•Applies engineering techniques and procedures for projects ranging in size and complexity

•Ability to lead and manage track projects, taking ownership of the process from inception to completion

•As a Track Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning of railway tracks, taking on the responsibility of leading the track installation of major projects and guiding junior engineers through the final installation.,


Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience

•Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad

•Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles

•Experience conducting track layout and alignment analysis, optimizing design parameters such as curvature, superelevation, and transitions between straight and curved sections

•Experience performing clearance analysis, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and addressing any conflicts with adjacent structures

•Understanding of how to best select and specify track components, considering factors such as rail type, ties, fasteners, and ballast, based on project requirements and industry standards

•Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, electrical engineers on complex transit projects

•Engineer in Training (EIT) certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
