The Mine Manager, will lead a team to deliver safe production results according to our annual mine plan, focused around our Quality, Safety and Results philosophy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring Safety above all else, and drive a safe work culture throughout Golden Queen
Provide mining input into the site-specific plan, lead the development and ongoing management of the mine plan and annual budget
Review and sign off technical plans and production inputs for budgets and the Operating Schedule, ensuring they are based on achievable goals with appropriate stretch and actionable planned improvements
Establish effective communication and feedback processes for the mining teams and key internal stakeholder groups to ensure people are informed and aware of goals, objectives, performance and direction in a timely and routine manner
Optimize mine operating and management standards and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and productive mining operations and the delivery of benchmark performance.
Effectively lead and manage Mining operations to deliver the budget including all relevant production, safely, environmental, cost and quality targets
Ensure availability of available of equipment to deliver mine plans and schedules Mine Manager Page 2 of 2
Lead a team of over 180 employees to operate an Open Pit Mine including Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance, and Technical Services
Provide balanced, strategic leadership in all functions and activities of the Mine Operations to maximize productivity at the most reasonable cost. This includes mining operations, equipment maintenance, technical services, budgeting and cost controls
Ensure best practice methods and continuous improvement systems are developed and maintained for the Mine Operations and benchmarked against other operations
Seek opportunities to grow inter-departmental partnerships and communication to promote teamwork and deliver optimized results throughout the mining process
Maintain and drive continuous improvement in mining operations, maintenance, forecasting, budgeting, cost controls and reporting
Serve as the primary mine activities resource for the mine site
Support the development, execution, and ongoing optimization of operational and asset management strategies
Proactively identify Mining-related challenges and opportunities that new systems, equipment and technology could address

Qualification and Skills:
B.S. in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy or BTech or equivalent related degree
10+ years of experience in the mining industry with proven experience leading safe operations in an Open Pit environment
5+ years of overall progressive leadership experience
Experience impacting and influencing employee motivation
Prior experience in effective change management techniques and their application
Relevant experience leading programs for monitoring compliance, action planning, and verification of controls
