
Senior Engineering Manager - eCommerce Platform
The Opportunity:
The Senior Engineering Manager, Redemption Storefront will lead, grow and motivate multiple squads and leaders within their area, enabling them to achieve key business results.
You will take the lead on defining key initiatives that drive improvements in product delivery and overall team and department efficiency. You will support team members in their personal growth and career progression. You will empower others and create an environment that encourages idea sharing and future thinking. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will contribute to decision-making about future objectives, helping to advise on how those objectives translate to work within the Engineering teams. You will champion Agile values and a culture of outcome-based product development
The team:
Our eCommerce Platform team design and build the platform where our customers redeem from a growing catalogue of a million items, gift cards and charities. The Platform enables our partners and business teams to provision their catalogues complete transactions and facilitate delivery to 170 countries, and provides underlying capabilities for our eCommerce Storefront team. They leverage technology capabilities with Amazon Web Services and Product Information Management and Supply Chain software to build the systems capable of transacting billions of dollars of trade each year. The team is constantly evolving, adopting new agile ways of working to support one another. They enjoy social events together, hiking, gaming, fitness and online cooking courses.

The experience you bring:
• You have extensive experience leading one or more development teams, enabling them to achieve key business results through their design and software development activities in an agile development environment
• You have experience in leading cross functional teams and engaging with senior stakeholders to achieve impactful outcomes
• You have knowledge and experience of delivering platform capabilities
The skills you will bring:
3+ years experience in building systems using at least different languages: Ruby, Scala, Java, PHP, Python, Node for example
Experience with cloud computing such as Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable
Experience with workflows such as OAuth and/or SAML for example
Experience building or managing distributed and/or SOA architectures
Experience with SaaS platforms
Experience with application optimization, profiling, & architecture
UNIX knowledge
