Position:                              Live-in Nanny/Cook

Schedule:                            Full-time, Mon. – Fri. (11am – 7pm/8pm) with flexibility during travel times

Location:                             Greenwich Village, NYC

Accommodations:             Private bedroom and bathroom

Salary:                                  $85,000 – $100,000 plus benefits

 

Friendly, creative couple with 2 boys (ages 5 & 7) is seeking a bright, warm, live-in Nanny who can provide some childcare, prepare meals, and maintain household upkeep.  Solid knowledge of cooking and preparation of healthy meals and snacks for the children 5 days per week.

 

A warm, intuitive individual who knows their way around a home and kitchen and is comfortable engaging children will do well here.  A good amount of flexibility is required as the career demands of the parents are non-traditional and include a schedule that can fluctuate and change.  Parents are seeking to truly integrate someone into their home who is a team player and will be treated respectfully and supportively in return.

 

Must work well with other staff that includes a part-time Housekeeper, Personal Assistant, and Tutors for children. Older child is in remote schooling and younger is being homeschooled, both due to COVID.  Schooling and kids’ activities are overseen by their respective tutors.

 

Duties:

•  Balance Nanny and Cook responsibilities (11am – 7pm or 8pm most days)

•  Being proactive in the children’s care working with both mom, dad and tutors on a daily basis

•  Assist in maintaining structure and consistency for the children

•  Family style cooking, integrating vegetables into children’s palette

•  Keep kitchen and children bedrooms tidy, and children laundry duties

•  Provide evening care 3 or less nights per week when Mom & Dad are out (dinner, bath, bedtime)

•  Provide overnight care for the children for 1-2 weeks at a time when Mom & Dad travel

•  Help Mom & Dad prepare for school in the morning and set up for tutors’ arrival when parents are out of town

•  Occasional picking up of children at end of day and attending any after school activities as needed, some coordination of activities and play dates

•  Travel with the family – domestic and abroad

 

Candidate Qualities:

•  At least 5 years of professional childcare experience

•  At least 5 years of experience cooking for families with young children

•  Informed about children's nutritional best practices

•  Warm, capable, intuitive, knows when to ‘step in’ and ‘step out’ and anticipate needs

•  Open communicator

•  Enjoys children and engaging with them daily

•  Adaptable and flexible with positive "can-do" attitude

•  U.S. Passport or ability to get U.S. Passport required

•  Licensed, experienced driver preferred
