Systems Admin – Sr – Design & Deployment

The Senior Systems Administrator will successfully lead surveys, assessments, and designs for replacement systems components, configurations, and software in execution of customer IT life-cycle management plans. Design and deployment efforts include configuration, implementation, acceptance, technical documentation, and follow-up technical support. Planning also includes capacity management and load balancing analysis to ensure that capacity efficiently meets system requirements.

Education and Experience:

·      Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of technical training, certifications, and experience

·      MSCS or other systems related certifications or specialty experience

·      5+ Years of experience

·      Storage or VMWare Certification

·      Security+ CE (or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification)

·      IAT Level II certification is required before start

Responsibilities:

·      Experienced in modifying COTS/GOTS applications to fit the customer’s requirements

·      Strong understanding and troubleshooting of physical and virtual servers

·      Knowledge of Scripting, vSAN, NetApp, Backups, Tape Library and SQL is a plus

·      Purchase recommendations on server equipment and site surveys involved with server installation

·      Attend work regularly to ensure all job duties are timely performed

·      Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by management

·      Provide Tier III Operational Support (troubleshooting)

Knowledge and Skills:

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·      Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations

·      Ability to track, manage, and ensure projects tasks are completed in a timely manner

·      Windows Server 2016

·      VMWare ESXi and Horizon

·      Remedy ITSM

·      SolarWinds Monitoring and Virtualization Manager (VMAN)

·      System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

Technical Knowledge

·      Strong experience with Sites and Services AD, DNS, and DHCP

·      Strong experience in VMWare ESXi v6.7/vCenter, Microsoft Servers, and RDSP Platform

·      Strong Experience with GPOs

·      Strong experience with implementing configuration baselines and DoD STIGs

·      Strong experience with vulnerability mitigation and patching

Clearance/Citizenship:

·     Minimum Secret Clearance

·     Must be US Citizen

Travel Requirements:

This position requires approximately 25% travel
