91 Place exists to be a safe place for homeless youth to be, grow, and transform. 91 Place offers each resident housing and programming to prepare them for independent living. Support services focus on mental health & therapy, trauma-informed care, education, employment, self-sufficiency, and community. Our hope is that the youth experiencing homelessness exit our home knowing they are loved, and capable, and never enter back into homelessness. 91 Place is in the process of expanding services to include innovative therapy methods and reversing generational poverty and chronic homelessness by creating opportunities for advancing racial and economic justice.


The Position:

91 Place is looking for an LCSW to bring in as the Therapy Center Director for their therapy program, Near Eastside Counseling. This powerful position will be instrumental in changing the lives of these youth, and playing a key role in their long-term stability. Along with talk therapy, NEC has a biosound therapy bed for clients and community to use. The basic functions of the Licensed Clinical Therapist are to provide assessments, treatments, psychotherapy, and referrals to a broad range of clients, including those which are severely mentally ill and those dealing with adjustment issues. This role will primarily serve youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness forms of treatment provided by Licensed Clinical Therapists, along with staff of 91 Place. Clients can range in age from 12-24 years old. Additionally, the licensed therapist will provide crisis intervention as needed. All services are provided in accordance with professional ethics and boundaries.


Objectives of This Role:

Supervision

  • Provide weekly supervision for therapists (including OT) and interns as well as being available for crisis supervision.
  • Train therapists/onboarding
  • Seek out training opportunities for therapists and 91 Place Staff
  • Monitor documentation
  • Review and sign Medicaid Treatment plans
  • Create and modify intake and general documents as needed
  • Make sure demographics and outcomes are being accurately gathered for grant purposes for therapy and biosound client's
  • Provide ongoing support and directions to administrative assistant
  • Train and onboard admin assistant


Program Development

  • Develop an innovative and realistic program for residents
  • Seek out and create partnerships with other agencies who work with our demographics
  • Market services to 46201/ self pay / biosound clients
  • Seek out and attend community events
  • Execute a marketing plan
  • Develop and implement interventions for clients and residents


Collaboration

  • Attend directors and all staff meetings biweekly
  • Attend resident collaboration meetings monthly
  • Provide mental health related guidance regarding housing program and WFD
  • Collaborate on MH policies and procedures for 91 Place
  • Provide MH training/onboarding for staff
  • Collaborate on grant funding
  • Collaborate with development team regarding events and marketing
  • Be the connection between 91P programs, SLT and NEC team


Management

  • Hire and manage NEC staff, including feedback and “disciplinary” action
  • Manage budget and expenses
  • Oversee Medicaid billing
  • Oversee self-pay billing


Responsibilities:

  • Complete Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments for all clients. Interview clients to obtain information concerning social history, treatment, and other pertinent information.
  • Plan and administer therapeutic treatment, behavior modification, and stress management therapy/techniques to assist clients in developing/displaying appropriate behaviors/decreasing symptoms.
  • Clinically evaluate patients to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior.
  • Review results of psychological evaluations and evaluations from community providers to assess client needs.
  • Change/Adapt method and degree/frequency of therapy when indicated by client reactions and needs.
  • Discuss progress toward goals and objectives, such as medication regimen, family relationships, educational programs, social development, discharge plans or other behavioral problems, with clients.
  • Responsible for carrying a clinical caseload via secured HIPPA Compliant software to be provided.
  • Consult external community providers concerning treatment plans and for coordination of care, as required.
  • Maintain regular contact with other agencies and professionals regarding client progress in the therapeutic treatment milieu through phone calls, letters, and/or monthly reporting.
  • Refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling, as needed.
  • Any documentation requirements - keep notes and treatment plans, track recidivism and social-emotional changes.
  • There is not a productivity or quota requirement for this position. Caseload will be discussed between the therapist and COO.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Clear AHCA Level II Background Screening
  • Supervisor experience
  • Experience in program development and forming community partnerships
  • Strong knowledge or training with trauma and homeless/at risk populations
  • Ability to understand and follow directions from supervisors, as well as comply with agency and county directives, state laws, licensing rules and regulations, and certification standards that cover mental health, AODA, and the chronically mentally ill.
  • Familiarity with electronic case records that are in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and other federal and state regulations.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal skills (essential to communicate clearly with clients and other staff members).
  • Ability to read and understand clinical reports and professional literature.
  • Knowledge of the spectrum of mental illness, symptomatology, psychotropic medications, and the problems presented in adjusting to life cycle changes.
  • Knowledge of lifespan issues from child development to issues of aging.
  • Ability to articulate a coherent philosophy regarding a psychotherapeutic approach or approaches within generally accepted practices of psychotherapy.
  • Ability to accurately recognize crisis situations, assess potential danger to clients and/or others, and effectively intervene, and assist with hospital transportation, as needed.
  • Demonstration of licensure free from any record of ethics and boundaries sanctions or reports of any type of client abuse.
  • Worked with at-risk or youth experiencing homelessness previously
  • Additional trainings such as EMDR, Brain spotting
